Dan O’Keefe claimed a pair of victories in the RIVA Racing HydroDrag Spring Nationals, which is WaterTop Unlimited’s first ever APBA sanctioned PWC drag race event.The Melbourne, Fla. company staged the event in Sebastian, Fla. on C-54, a manmade canal that is part of the St. John’s Water Management District. Participants from eight states and Puerto Rico competed in the weekend event, which ran from April 11 to 13.

Austrian personal watercraft manufacturer HSR-Benelli, formerly known as Hydrospace, has axed its race support program for 2008.“From the beginning HSR-Benelli has been receiving pressure from different organizations and federations, which have tried to stop our spirit of innovation,” the company says. “So at this point, our position is that there is no possibility of supporting racing now, as there is not a straight structure or common understanding.”

2nd Annual Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic Moves to Yellow StatusDecember 1, 2006 For immediate release Lincoln City, OR – The contest status for the 2006 Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic, presented by Liquid Militia and the Nelscott Reef Surf Shop, has been changed to Yellow today. A yellow status means there is a potential swell forecast that is being monitored for contestable conditions. All competitors have been notified of the status change.

The IJSBA is very sad to report that Larry Rippenkroeger has been seriously injured on the set on Die Hard 4. Larry suffered a 25 foot fall from a scaffolding and sustained two broken arms, a skull fracture, fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and other injuries.
